November Update: Building [REDACTED] in Public
We're back, first official post of the revived WiFi SaaS Money Project.
Introduction:
Welcome back! It’s finally time.
@anonsaasbuilder and I have been working hard in the background to breathe new life into this project.
Originally something I had dreamed up but got caught up in the multiple projects I had running.
For those of you who don’t know - the original idea was to build a SaaS business in public by selling a white-label software. This was going to including, marketing, sales, and financial information on exactly how everything was being done.
Now with a partner and some extra time, we’ve been diving into getting everything up and running for this re-imagination of the project.. with a couple of changes from the original.
We are going to be building our own SaaS tool, not white labelling. This is extra work, but I believe will have greater potential for all those looking to follow along.
Although all monthly updates are going to be free - including everything you need to follow along - There will be a paid tier that will provide extra detail and exclusive information, but more importantly, paid subs get access to asking questions and leaving comments - these will be all be answered.
The name and the product its self will be revealed soon, but not yet. Until then, it will be [REDACTED].
What will be the same? We’re still going to give full transparency on development, sales, marketing, and financials.
What makes me think we can start a saas company like this?
To steal a meme from
(You should look at his substack - great info.) The simple answer is I am left curve and too dumb to think otherwise, but that also means if I succeed, you can too.I have a feeling AnonSaaSBuilder may be right curve, but we’ll probably never confirm that.
I. Monthly Highlights:
We have started building!
We have chosen to use Laravel to build the product.
What is Laravel?
Laravel is a PHP web application framework that is very well suited for building SaaS projects and has a number of existing resources that are going to make this project easier and more efficient. We will not currently be teaching you how to code, but will provide resources, and a lot of general information on what and how we did what we did. Extra reading will be required at this stage though to follow along completely.

I did not know laravel or PHP at the start of this project, but to steal another meme this time from
:
Notable metrics and growth figures: Pre-Launch, none.
II. Product Development:
Features developed and rolled out.
Account/signup/login system finalized
Laravel has a number of built in tools for this, very easy.
Read:

https://laravel.com/docs/10.x/middleware
Main functionality has been built, looks terrible.
Landing page built.
Upcoming features in the pipeline.
Make it pretty
integrate payment processor
Deciding between Stripe and Paddle
III. Goals for Next Month:
Objectives for the upcoming month:
We will launch the landing page, reveal what is being built, and start collecting emails as show of interest.
Integrate payment processor
Write up detailed guide on the substack of what work has been done so far
IV. Closing Thoughts:
This is a bit of an ambitious project, but something that I believe is going to be possible.
The original goal of building in public to USD$2k/month is still in place, from there we will decide what is next for this substack - maybe we start again with another project.
A thought on paid subscriptions: There will be no paid content for the first couple of months, you can sign up, but this will be mostly a donation as the only benefit you will get is ability to comment and ask questions. We will let you know when paid content starts.
We will update you soon with full details on development, the product, and challenges we face along the way.
Maybe this will be a failure, at least you can enjoy the entertainment.
Cheers,
Dingo
